Posting Virgin

There are several reasons/excuses I've had for never posting a blog before but I'll go straight to the fact that I'm just not that interesting!  So, if I'm so unappealing then why am I now starting this?  Well, because my life has changed a lot...and somehow a baby makes me interesting...

On to Jack:
Jackson George was born on June 22.  He has a lot of nick names to our family.  My mom called him "JG", my sister and her brood call him "Baby Jack", my dad (Papou (his grandpa name)) has taken to calling him BJ (for "Baby Jack"), and Daddy calls him "Jack-a-roo", but to me he's just "Jack"... my precious lil'man.
He's 4 months old and growing like a weed!  I can't believe how fast he is growing and changing.  His newest things include grabbing his feet, sucking his thumb, and eating rice cereal!

I will also use this blog as an outlet... so just a fair warning to all of you:
The last year has involved a lot of emotion for my family.  Those of you that know me know that my grandfather passed away 3 days before his Jack was born and my mom passed away 3 months after.  In my mind I struggle a lot with the fact that my life goes on around all of that.  That Jack will continue to grow and learn and become a man without them in his life etc... etc...

I may even post vents about my job (nothing specific, thank you HIPAA!) and may not be anything related to any real patients...in fact.. I may have made it up... maybe...:
Something we were talking about at work tonight - I love when birth just happens - believe it or not, our bodies actually do know what to do!  This does not mean I think Home Births are safe or smart... I see too much go wrong to believe that; however, I do think that we interviene a little too much at times (and no, actually most of the time I feel it's at the request of the patient, not just the doctor).
